I have 2 of these switches in my home. Both have been replaced, but not sure why they died. I can say they both went out in the same fashion...ports just died. Other than that, they did their job for at least a year a peace. I will update if the newer switches end up in the recycle bin.

PROS:

+1gig Ethernet
+small and mountable via screws

CONS:
-1st 2 switches lasted about 12-14 months
-Would like to see a better design mounting system beside to holes on the bottom for screws.

My DGS-2205 worked fine for 13 months, now it just dies every once in a while. The power light stays on, but the port lights go off and the switch is inoperative. It will sometimes come back on it's own, or a power cycle will bring it back to life, but if it won't stay up it is of no use to me.
